Lazyboy recliner,
Lazyboy not what they use to be
Lazy Boy Recliner doesn't hold up for the price
La-z-boy furniture took 12 weeks to delivery our supposed 4 week delivery furniture!
My husband and I went into the La-Z-boy furniture store in Northridge, California. We found a set of furiture that we liked so we decided to place an order. So after ordering a sofa, chair, and ottomon, with a "custom fabric", and "custom pillows" the total came out to $3,300!! I really wanted the furniture though and hadn't found anything anywhere else so we just decided to go with it.
When we made the order, our La-Z-Boy associate (Geva) told us that it could take up to 8 weeks at the most for our furniture but most times it only takes 4. Now four weeks later we had not heard anything so we gave them a call and got the typical response that they hadn't heard anything and would give us a call in a couple of weeks with an update. So now its 6 weeks and still we haven't heard anything. So we call them again and get the same response. At this point dissapointment has set in that it's been a month and a half without our new furniture. 8 weeks rolls around and still no phone call. Now we figured that legally it had to be delivered by 8 weeks like we were told but that's not what Geva said when we called her again! She said that she would have to look into why it was taking so long and that she would get back to us but that it can take up to 12 weeks!!!!
I looked on our order form to see what the delivery rules were and sure enough in the small print it says that it can take up to 12 weeks. So now we're at 10 weeks and Geva finally calls us saying that she's not exactly sure why it's taking so long but that it should be ready any day and that there may have been a problem ordering the fabric. Now, at this point my patience has completely worn off and I've completely sworn off buying anything from La-Z-boy furniture again.
So days before the 12 week mark we finally get the call that our furniture is ready! When the delivery man brought our furniture into our home and uncovered it, of course one of our chair arms looked like it had been dragged through the dirt and had a dark dirt smear on it. The delivery man padded most of it out and said that he would order a cleaning service to come and finish cleaning it up. No one ever came and I was so fed up with the company that I never called. We also never got a call from our lovely helper Geva asking how our furniture was.
Overall it was extremely expensive for the *** service we got and because of it I will never use them or recommend them again! What a frustrating experience!!!!!

La Z Boy Scam Guardsman Protection Plan
I am a La Z Boy employee and I have to say I can't do this job much longer because of ripping off customers I can't sleep at night.I'm not even sure they really apply such product from what I've seen and heard. To makes matters worse the fabrics are very cheap and high priced in the custom order fabrics.
They push and push sales people to sell the Very High Profit so called product.
They push and push because they get nice bonus for these. I haven't found one good article about the Guardsman Protection Plan " NONE!"
La Z Boy sectional - Sinclair
Had a new sectional delivered 3 months ago, and the smell is overwhelming. I notice it at the top of the stairs, and I can't get used to it by spending time in that room.
I am not normally squeemish or odor sensitive, but this odor makes me feel a little sick. Brought the cushion back to the store in a plastic bag so they could check. The clerk said it would take a little while longer to go away. That was 6 weeks ago, and it smells as strong as the day it arrived.
I've purchased other sofas, chairs, and mattresses from other stores a few months before and also since and they have no odor to speak of. Not sure what to do. I am not pleased, as this is our family room and no one can stand to go in it.
Oh yes, and I paid over $2200. I called last week, and am still waiting response.
Lazy boy guarentee a sham
Lazy Boy Furniture Galleries is an Appropriate name. Failed to respond to service requests
Lazy Boy Furniture Galleries did not respond to many service requests a few years ago when my new Lazy Boy style chair and half and couch stuffing were not to my satisfaction. The repairman told me back then that Lazy Boy had changed their parts supplier from an American company to a Chinese company and that I would notice the poor quality of the furniture. It took three months to get two pillows stuffed.
Now it has been one month since my email to them telling them that my chair back needs repair with no repsonse. I have followed up with several phone calls only to get voice mail.
I thought I had finally arrived in life when I was able to buy a Lazy Boy chair I wish I knew about the dismal service record. Don't buy from Lazy Boy Furniture Galleries.

no they are not like they use to be now they are build out of plywood not out of hardwood like they use to be build my husband works at lazboy for 31 yrs in the woodroom
Same here. Bought a reclining sofa and reclining loveseat from Lay Z Boy in 1996 with absolutely no problems with fabric or mechanisms for 14 years.
My youngest would bounce off the end of the leg rests and jump to the floor for hours, no problem. The mechanisms were entirely made of heavy steel scissors, and each piece was very heavy, took two men to move them. The new recliners I bought in 2010, they were light as a feather, and the mechanism is already broken in one of them after six months of use. La Z Boy used to stand for quality, now they stand for poor quality and cutting corners.
They knew how to build lasting furniture, now they forgotten or don't care. Go ahead and buy if on sale and you realize they may not last more than a few years.
I have to agree. I've bought at least 4 lazyboy chairs. I bought a lazyboy couch and it's falling apart.
