The recliner in question is the fifth one my elderly parents have purchased from Lay-z-Boy. Not only was it delivered to them 4-months late, the lift ottoman on the chair has had electrical problems from the start.
After calling the local Lay-z-Boy franchise, they charge $70 to come take a look at the chair (still under warranty) and the wait was 2-months.
After contacting the corporation, it was made clear to me that they have no intention of servicing their product, and that they had no problem with continuing to gouger the consumer with a service charge. Isn't it nice that this company apparently believes in penalizing repeat customers by fobbing off a defective recliner and then charging them yet again examine that defection.
Do not, under any circumstances, and at your peril, buy from Lay-z-Boy! They do not stand behind their inferior product and they do not respect or value their consumers.
