We purchased our Lazy Boy couches for about $5000. They were a beautiful camel colored leather. Within 10-13 months after purchasing, the leather started flaking off the cushions.

We called Lazy Boy, and they told us we were outside of our warranty, but could purchase a new cushion for $300 a piece. At this point we needed 6 new cushions since they were all flaking off. And how did we know the new cushions would not flake off again. Not only were our cushions flaking off, but the entire couch was beginning to flake off. We had piles of leather flakes accumulate all over our floor and in between the cushions.

We have written Lazy Boy corporate and the local store in Overland Park, Ks about the couches, and we never heard back from either of them.

There has to be some kind of product issue with the leather. We are sick over our couches and so disappointed. We even got the sofa sleeper upgrade, but we dread using the sleeper because of all the flaking pieces in between the couch we will have to clean up when pulling it out.

Agree. Googling and came across this as I have same issue.

Couch in an office with seldom use and it looks horrible. The solution is to never buy from them again.

Costco all the way. I had a couch I wasnโ€™t happy with after use for 5 years so I returned it to them no questions asked

Lazy Boy- we emailed socialsupport@***a-z-boy.com, and they would not do anything for us. I also sent three letters to the Lazy Boy store in Overland Park.

Finally after the 3rd letter, the store responded. After that, for months we had to send in receipts and tags off our couch, but they finally agreed to give us, new real leather couches, for the same price we paid for the other ones.

The store admitted that the sales rep that sold us the couches did not disclose that we were being sold fake leather, so that is why they agreed to replace them. The OP store was nice to work with, once they finally reached out.

I, too, have the same problem with my recliner. NOT a customer anymore and telling friends about this product. Don't buy from Lazy Boy!

You don't have real leather. You were cheated plain and simple. I can't believe the stores can get away with this.

Apparently Lazboy started using bonded leather sometime in the last 10yrs. I had no idea about this when we recently purchased 2 recliners @$1600+.

I sold lazboy furniture in the 90โ€™s and early 2000โ€™s and this was not anything that was going on at the time or could be that the materials have just gotten cheaper over the years. My husbands recliner has been replaced twice now. He is retired and uses it more than I do as I work full time.

Mine is โ€œout of warrantyโ€ now and it has begun to peel as well. Next time will definitely pay more for real leather instead of bonded leather!!!
